Stouder Lodged for Dealing Controlled Substances and Marijuana

On December 21, 2019 at approximately 1:30 AM, Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Bennett conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of US 30 and Hawthorn Road. The driver was identified as 34 year old Cheyne Stouder of Bourbon, Indiana. During the traffic stop suspected marijuana, illegal psilocybin mushrooms, controlled substances, and drug equipment were located in the vehicle and on Cheyne’s person. Cheyne was transported to the Marshall County Jail. While inside the jail, suspected LSD was located on Cheyne’s person during a strip search. Cheyne was booked for the following offenses.
I. Dealing a Schedule 1, 2, or 3 Controlled Substance greater than 28 grams – Level 2 Felony
II. Dealing in Marijuana Greater than 30 grams, but less than 10 pounds – Level 6 Felony
III. Possession of a Controlled Substance – Class A Misdemeanor
IV. Possession of Marijuana – Class B Misdemeanor

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed, and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the state is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt can be made.
